In late October, along with contacts at Hamad’s Cancer Hospital, I met with a group of young women from Qatar College of Law to discuss the early detection of breast cancer. Thirty women volunteered to take home fabric and patterns to make heart pillows, drainage bags and surgery dolls. Thank you, Melissa for your introduction to these lovely ladies.
Continuing with our themed months, we ask that you please bring a scarf to the December General Meeting & Holiday Luncheon. These scarves will be distributed to the ladies undergoing chemotherapy at Hamad Hospital. Always welcome are travel-sized shampoos, hygiene items, pajamas, slippers and cotton fabric in one-meter lengths.
Our sewing group will commence again in January. Until that time, Merry Christmas and safe travels to all and to all a good night!
