Hamad Hospital project update

Rooms in the cancer ward at Hamad Hospital look a lot more cheerful these days with the help of our hospital volunteers.  Not only has the group adorned patients’ rooms with brightly painted designs, they’ve spread hope and encouragement to residents and their visitors, and filled their hearts with joy and love.

Reaction to the colorful room additions has been overwhelming, reports Melinda Mesbah, who has been busily working alongside Matilda Ghawi, Barbara Phillips, Pat Bacon, Angela Baumann, Kay Leach, Wendy Wozniak and Meg McClean, to decorate bland hospital doorways and walls.  “I never expected patients to respond like this,” says Melinda.  “They are so happy, and many of them have asked if they can stay in the room while we paint!”
