March roars into Spring

March always seems to be a busy time of year. Many things are happening, including planning for spring break or preparing to move somewhere else. Lately I have heard of many people who are leaving Doha, which makes me sad, but I know that new adventures await them and our paths may actually cross again. Since this is such a transient environment, we never really know how long we will be here, and our friendships seem to develop so quickly. At least in this electronic age they’re easier to keep.

This month, REMEMBER Daylight Savings Time on March 8th, St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th and the first day of Spring on the 20th! There’s a lot of great happenings around Doha this month – new museum exhibits, DFI’s QUMRA, CHI Al Shaqab, just to name a few. And, don’t put off those outdoor activities that you’ve been thinking about either, because it’s going to be hot again before we know it! I’m looking forward to more dune bashing and quad biking . . . and maybe some camping (still talking myself into sleeping outdoors).

Spring is a time of new beginnings, which for AWAQ means preparing for elections. We are taking nominations, so if there’s a committee or board position that you are interested in, or know someone who would be a great addition to the team, let us know!

If you would like to be more involved, or have ideas, creativity and suggestions to share, now or in the future, please let us know! We appreciate everyone’s efforts and look forward to hearing from our membership – especially those who would like to join the ranks of dedicated individuals who give of their time and talents to allow our association to continue providing meaningful experiences for its members.   We welcome everyone to get engaged in your American Women’s Association.

See you soon!

Angela
