The FAWCO Human Rights Task Force is sponsoring a first-of-its-kind educational trip for FAWCO members and their guests to Rwanda to explore implications of women’s leadership and human rights issues in this fascinating and beautiful country. Since the genocide that tore Rwanda apart twenty years ago, the nation has become a model for the involvement of women in all levels of government.
The trip is scheduled for October 25-November 1 with optional add-ons before and after the main trip. Please see links below for details. Please email Therese Hartwell at with any questions and let her know if you are interested in the October trip.
Participating members are welcome to bring a spouse and/or a friend. Older children will be considered on an individual basis. Please note that the itineraries and pricing are subject to change until the time of booking, and minor changes to the itinerary may be necessary.
Tour participants will be contracting directly with GEI, the company organizing the trip. Tour participants are responsible for arranging their own international transportation, visas, etc. and should consult their physician regarding recommended immunizations and medications. FAWCO has worked out some additional details for this trip including adding an optional 5-day add-on for a safari in Tanzania. You can get a program brochure with all the details on itinerary and pricing as well as the registration form here.
