Activities update

Our monthly book club members have been busy reading some great books, and will soon be selecting titles for 2016-2017.  In the past, the reading list has been published in advance so all interested parties have the opportunity to source the books locally or abroad.  If you’d like to suggest a title, please join us on Sunday, March 20th.  This month,  book club will discuss Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey.  Please contact Jenny Ezzo  for location specifics and information on joining the group.

Mahjong is back this month , with a new group leader and plenty of enthusiasts eager to play!  All levels welcome! We can start with a refresher course – to either remind us of rules/which version will be played or to start learning as a beginner!  We can use more sets to play with as members join–so, bring yours along!  The group will meet every Thursday in West Bay.  For more Mahjong information, please contact Brigita Rutenbergs.

Also meeting every week is our Heart Pillow sewing group.  You don’t need to know how to sew, we need fingers to cut and stuff as well!  This ongoing program is the “heartthrob” of Regina McCorkle, our Community Service chair.  Please contact Regina for more details.

Finally, don’t miss our monthly hosted coffee mornings.  Each month, one of our AWAQ members hosts this informal event at her home, giving us each a chance to become familiar with Doha’s many residential venues, while meeting new friends and contacts. In March, Shannon Escarra welcomes you to share her amazing marina views at the Pearl.  Participants are asked to register onlineand to bring something yummy for all to share.
