On Friday, February 9, AWA met with the local Girl Scouts to work on our Hamad Hospital projects. Over 50 Girl Scouts ranging from age 5 to 14 attended with their troop leaders. We focused on the heart pillows for breast cancer patients and the dolls for pediatric surgeris. Extending our helping hands in Qatar even further, our community service volunteers are now working in collaboration with the Tuesday Ladies Group (TLG) to sew medical dolls for kids at Hamad Children's Hospital. These adorable dolls, dressed in hospital gowns of varying prints and colors, are being stitched together with love by our hard-working members who meet regularly to sew heart pillows and...

We will continue to collect donations of toiletries and new, unused underwear for our Hamad Hospital project, so please keep bringing them to our meetings! Underwear should be new, packaged or complete with price tag, in any size, color or style.  We'll pass these along to patients at Hamad's cancer ward who lack resources or who need a "boost" in spirit following surgery.
